Mistrust of Science

The opposition of vaccines comes from people who mistrust of science. They believe that pharmaceutical companies and scientists want to sell a product to make huge profits. Others are having doubts of the science that they do not acknowledge or the chemicals that used to make the vaccine. Besides, homeopathic treatments are being selected by these people because the instant soothing symptoms of some conditions. People who mistrust science are less likely to vaccinate and they do not trust medical practitioners who recommend vaccines.

Availability and Accessibility 

People that lived in rural areas are most likely have the difficulty accessing the services of government health clinics. They do not own a personal vehicle, or it is hard to find a transportation to get to the health clinics causing them to miss the vaccine appointments. In addition, there is no internet connection in remote places, and it is even harder for them to get the latest update about the vaccination plan from the government. Likewise, they are not aware about the benefits of vaccine.

Misconception and Concern About The Vaccine

People that were influenced by hoaxes via social media, such as Facebook and WhatsApp, claimed that the immunization program is a “New World” conspiracy. This conspiracy came from people that do not trust the government and even worse, these people will share the fake news to seek attention. Others claimed that the vaccine is not permitted or halal because of the ingredients used to make the vaccine. This becomes a major concern especially to Muslims that lived in Islamic countries.
